Three numbers of project proposals submitted to TePP-DSIR under TUC-NEIST, Jorhat  has been approved by TePP Screening Committee of DSIR for financial support under Micro Technopreneurship Support Category. The three project proposals are:

 • Jewellery from indigenous natural fibre of Assam

The project is sanctioned for TePP support of Rs. 60,000/-

• Thermal Biomass Gasifier

The project is sanctioned for TePP supprt of Rs. 65,000/-

• Water Tank Auto Shut off with Alarm

The project is sanctioned for TePP support of Rs. 40,000/-

Two project proposals sanctioned under TePP Phase I (TS) support in the 97th meeting of TePP Screening Committee (TSC), DSIR. The details are as follows:

1. Project Title: Development of a modified Chess Game by Mr. Tapan Deb.
                        The proposal is recommended for TePP support of Rs. 0.30 lakhs.

2. Project Title: Development of a prototype of newly invented muga reeling machine
                        by Mr Monuj Kr.Gogoi.
                        The proposal is recommended for TePP support of Rs. 0.54 lakhs.

Recent TePP Activities

TUC-NEIST conducts 2nd Project Demonstration

With the floating of incessant project proposals by Innovators to TePP for funding, the TePP Outreach Centre (TUC) at NEIST, Jorhat conducted its 2nd Project demonstration programme on 2nd February, 2010 at its premise. Out of several proposals received from different quarters of the public, 3 (Three) numbers of  projects were short-listed and selected for demonstration before TUC for the Micro Technopreneurship Support (TS), based on their merit. The Innovators demonstrated their innovations before the Technology Angels namely, Dr Plabon Kakoti, Asst Prof and Dr Thuleswar Nath, Asst Prof, both from Mech. Engg Div, JEC, Jorhat and also Mr. Jayanta Ghose, Scientist from Central Muga Eri Research & Training Institute, Jorhat.

The demonstrations were given on:

          • Water Tank Auto Shut off with Alarm

          • Jewellery from indigenous natural fibre of Assam
                     (by Naren Raj Baruah) 

          • Thermal Biomass Gasifier
                     (by Gautam Borthakur)

Mr Dipankar Neog, Coordinator, TUC-NEIST, coordinated the programme. Notable among others present in the demonstration were Mr Pranab Borkakoti, Adviser, TUC-NEIST, Mr S C Kalita, Head, Gen.Engg Divn., NEIST, Mr Ajoy Borkotoky, Member, TUC-NEIST, Ms I.Ilika Zhimo, Member, TUC-NEIST and Mr Manik Saikia, Project Assistant, TUC-NEIST.
